DAWN

In early, lovely, brisky dawn
...Birds are flying out of their nests.
As all these looked from a hillock down,
...Cocks are happily nodding their crests.

Densely packed greyish mist
...Is completely screening our sight
It is moving fainly without any rift
...Seeing the sun shining bright.

The mist envelops the town like shroud
...And seeking another place, it does gad.
There is always a sun behind the cloud
...So stop lamenting and be very glad.

  1. As usual your poem seems nice, why cant you use simple words because most of the readers from our tamil community. some of us find difficult to understand the new words, otherwise you can give meanings of those words. This my kind request only.

  2. thankyou akka for your comment. sometimes i have to use these words to get a rhyme scheme. here after i will give meaning for those words. And these poems were mostly written during my school days. Now, I am not writting english poems, simply because my hubby cant understand it fully. But i write some situational poem.

    brisky - active.
crests - beardlike red colour outgrowth of a cock.
    fainly - lazily
    rift - gap
shroud - white cloths used to cover dead
    gad - move
    lamenting - sorrowful
